Meet Your Guide

I grew up in a small town in Western Kentucky.

The home where I grew up was surrounded by woods, and all along the one-lane gravel road we lived on were even more woods waiting to be explored.

My nephew and I spent countless hours wandering through those woods.

We went on adventures. We searched for treasure. We learned that if we wanted to see wildlife—or hear it—we had to sit with our backs against a tree, stay perfectly still, and simply listen.

The older I got, the better I became at listening.

That patience—observing, listening, and waiting—has helped my photography more than any camera or lens ever could.

Now, I don't want to give the wrong impression. I've never claimed to be the most technical photographer, and I leave much of the artistry to my wife. I'm more of a recorder.

I simply like to photograph the people, places, and moments that touch me.

I don't often find the picture.

Most times, the picture finds me.
